Once Upon a Read-a-Thon: My Mini Challenge

Once Upon A Read-A-Thon

The Once Upon a Read-a-Thon is hosted by Pure Imagination, Candace's Book Blog and Reading Angel.

I'm hosting a mini challenge/activity today for the read-a-thon and I wanted to make it about something that my sister and I never agree about:

"Books made into Movies"
I love to watch movies based on books even if the movie is totally different than the book. I know this bothers a lot of people like my sister. I just get very excited when I hear a book that I love will be made into a movie or a TV show, I love it!

Some examples of movies/TV shows that are very different from the books and I really enjoy watching them are:
True Blood
The Vampire Diaries
Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief

So here are the details:

*You must be signed up for the read-a-thon*

In the comments tell me the name of a book or series that you would love to see get made into a movie or a TV show and your cast choices for the main characters. You can even make a little mini post if you want and post pics/links, go to storycasting.com, or just tell me your choices in the comments, it's up to you. Just make sure you post on the comments the links or your answer and leave an email address so I can contact you!!

*Winner will be chosen by random.org this Friday 7/16 and will get to pick one (1) book under $20 from The Book Depository*

I would really love to see Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty made into a movie because I love that series. For the casting, I would like Jessica Darling to be played by Kristin Stewart and Marcus Flutie to be played by Gavin Mason (Spinner in Degrassi: The Next Generation). I think both of these actors would work very well for the parts.

Thanks for hosting this mini challenge

Wow this is harder than I thought it would be. I guess I would choose City of Bones by Cassandra Clare.

As far as the main characters:

Clary - the girl that played Victoria in Eclipse - Bryce Dallas Howard

Jace - Riley that played in Eclipse - Xavier Samuel

I know this might not sound as good but it was hard trying to find people that I thought looked the part.

Thanks for the challenge!

I am dying to see the Iron Fey Series turned into a movie. I would die of utter happiness to one day see that on big screen.

I think Damien, the actor, dont know his name, from Vampire Diaries should play ash.

I also think Meghan should be played by the Alice in Wonderland chick.

Lastly my dear puck. I would love to see him played by this cutie that went to my highschool. Sorry no other idea. lol

Wow, thanks for the push Cynthia! There are several titles mentioned here that we don't have on our site yet, so I'll submit these to The Crew and then report back when they're all on. Also, we would like the lit instructors for ages 13+ to consider using fantasy casting (and of course our site) as a great way to inject celebrity and movie fun into classics. Let us know what you want your class to cast, and we'll make sure it's available.
