*The objective is to read a set number of YA (Young Adult) or MG (Middle Grade) novels from debut authors published this year.* I'm going to challenge everyone to read at least 12 debut novels! * I would like to limit the novels to those released in 2010* You don't need to have a blog to enter.* You don't have to list your choices right away, but if you do feel free to change them through out the year. *Anyone can join, you don't need a blog to participate. If you don't have a blog you can always share your views by posting a review on Amazon.com/Barnesandnoble.com/Goodreads/Shelfari or any other book site.
I am sure that I will read way more than this amount of books but I will definitely be reading these for sure!! Whenever I read other books from Debut Authors I will be adding them to my list so keep in touch and if you want to join the 2010 Debut Author Challenge just click on the button on the side.

Meeting Becca Fitzpatrick

Last night I got to meet the amazing Becca Fitzpatrick, author of one of my favorite books Hush, Hush. It was surreal meeting her, I felt like some people feel when they meet their favorite celebrities. I get really nervous and all crazy fan girl.. no screaming of course.. but all giggly and sweating buckets.. yeah.. not a pretty picture. Anyways she got to talk to us for a few minutes before she started signing books. She talked about how long it took her to write the book and the struggle to get it published. She also showed us her outline for the sequel Crescendo (which looked like a bunch of colored index cards) wish I could've gotten a closer peek into those.. =) Can't wait for Crescendo! She also mentioned her favorite authors some included Diana Gabaldon, Maggie Stiefvater and Richelle Mead. She did a Q & A with the fans and also talked about how she got to pick the model for the cover of Hush,Hush. She had a laptop with a bunch of outtakes from the photo shoot and that was really fun to see, also some of the other head shots from the other models that were sent to her as choices for the covers. I thought Drew was the perfect choice and I'm so glad she picked him!!! =D She was super nice and mentioned how she gets really nervous too.. which made me feel better.. I gave her a bracelet that I made specially for her and she said she liked it, I was very happy about that. I'm so glad I got to meet her, she's so very nice to her fans. Well here are so pics from last night!!!

The Espressologist was Great!!

The Espressologist The Espressologist by Kristina Springer
Publisher: Farrar Straus Giroux

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Espressologist is about a high school senior that works as a barista in a coffee shop to save money to go to her favorite college. She starts noticing the kind of people that go into the store and the kind of drinks they order, she writes the names of the drinks in her notebook with a description of the kind of person that orders those drinks. After one of her friends breaks up with his girlfriend she decides to match him with another customer that she thinks will make a good match by looking at their personality description from the drinks they ordered. I thought the book was very fun to read and I loved the way the writer describes the people's personalities according to their drink. Jane reminds me very much of myself, the book reminded me of my high school days. Jane is a timid girl that was not very outspoken and did not stand up for herself until this whole espressologist thing gets out there and she starts getting lots of attention. I really enjoyed reading this book, I haven't read a book that was not paranormal in a long time but I'm glad I read this one. Will recommend to anyone that loves lots of teenage high school drama with romance. It was very entertaining and you don't have to be a coffee drinker to like it. Pin It

What an Amazing Book!!!! WOW!!!

The Maze Runner by James Dashner
Publisher: Random House (Delacorte Press)
Available Now!

My rating 5 out of 5 Stars

When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his first name. His memory is blank. But he’s not alone. When the lift’s doors open, Thomas finds himself surrounded by kids who welcome him to the Glade—a large, open expanse surrounded by stone walls.
Just like Thomas, the Gladers don’t know why or how they got to the Glade. All they know is that every morning the stone doors to the maze that surrounds them have opened. Every night they’ve closed tight. And every 30 days a new boy has been delivered in the lift.
Thomas was expected. But the next day, a girl is sent up—the first girl to ever arrive in the Glade. And more surprising yet is the message she delivers.

Thomas might be more important than he could ever guess. If only he could unlock the dark secrets buried within his mind. (synopsis from Random House)

This book was amazing! I loved it and can honestly say in my opinion it's one of the best books I've ever read. It's about a big group of boys that live as a community in the middle of a maze. They have no memories of their past lives before they were dumped there except for their names. They constantly send kids running out to the maze to try and find a way out, until another boy named Thomas gets dumped in the maze and everything starts to change. I could not stop reading this book, it was unbelievable. I was sitting at the edge of my seat flipping the pages and gasping at the end of every chapter. There were so many surprises and twists, it was unpredictable. I absolutely loved it and recommend it to anyone! If you loved the Hunger Games I'm sure you'll love The Maze Runner. Pin It

100 Monkeys

So... can I say that I am officially obsessed now with 100 Monkeys!!! this is not just because of Jackson Rathbone..(although he is a cutie) I loved the band last night my fellow Houstonian TwilightMoms and I went to Warehouse Live to watch the show and it was amazing!!!! I was unable to go to Twicon in Dallas so I hadn't gotten to see the band live until last night.. and it was freaking AWESOSOME!!! love them! they are all soo talented and it was really hard to get good pictures with my stupid old camera tha kept running out of battery cause they jump around a lot.. A LOT!!! most of my pics are all blurry.. but anyways .. after the concert was done I was waiting there with a few of my friends until they came out.. They were super nice, taking pictures with fans and signing autographs.. of course my stupid self was not able to go up to any of them and ask for an autograph. First because I'm toooo shy and secondly because I didn't have a pen/sharpie. I did get a 100 Monkeys shirt.. did I mention that??? oh well.. it was a youth medium which means it won't fit me.. blah.. Well at least I got a picture with Jackson.. not a very good one cause it had to be taken from my phone, as I said my camera ran out of battery (stupid thing) .. Well here are some pictures...

My Very First Post!!!

So at the end of last year I decided that I would give this blog thing a try and here I am.. trying it out. Don't know how this is going to work since I don't get on the pc everyday, I do most of my stuff from my phone but anyways... don't expect some Julie&Julia stuff from me.. My blog is going to be about all different kinds of stuff I guess.. reading books, (which is a major part of my life) regular day to day life with the family, cooking experiments, jewelry experiments, and just lots of nonsense =) I do like to try new things so we'll see.. maybe some giveaways from my shop too.. I'm very new at this and have no idea how to do all those links and stuff soooo my idea for the name of my blog came from Seinfeld.. I love that show.. my husband and I are big Seinfeld geeks. It's hilarious!! so this is the link for the episode that inspired me.. have no idea how to post the actual video on here like some of the cool blogs --->>
