I have only read ...Love at First Sight and I agree. Although the ending was perfect. Seeing beyond that one day would have been great. They were SO cute.

I read this one recently and was very impressed with the clarity and true-to-life (I imagine) way the author showed how life would be in this situation. I think it was very well written and researched.

haha I included Twilight on my list even though I knew I'd get slaughtered for it. Yeah, they weren't the best... but I own the fact that I loved each and every one of them. LOL
I didn't read Warm Bodies and thought the movie was kinda dumb, but I think I would have felt differently if I had read the book!!! Was the book good? I want to see Beautiful Creatures, but def wanna read the books first! Though not sure I want to get Zoey in my head as whoever that character is... might mess me up for VA! Oh man the Lightning Thief is pretty much the poster child for terrible movie adaptions everywhere. It was just SO BAD. I'm curious to see how Sea of Monsters turns out, especially after they decided to change Annabeth's hair color back to blonde and made a bunch of other changes to try to be more true to the book. I'm on the fence about it, but I think there might be some hope that it won't suck as much as the first one. :P

I agree that The Hunger Games was really well done. I wasn't crazy about the camera being so shaky but was still wonderful. I can't wait until Catching Fire :-) I'm excited about CoB too..like crazy excited!

Your review has made me so much more excited to read this book! I actually love hearing that this not only isn't written in a more traditional manner, but that the story's contents themselves are outside of the norm. And I love how you mention the link between mental illness and creativity. I'm fascinated to see how that's played out in the story (even if the characters don't suffer from mental illnesses, per se). Such a well-written and thoughtful review!

I read a lot of negative reviews on this book before I started it. So, I went into it, not expecting too much. I was determined to read this one, despite the poor reviews because I LIKE boarding school books. For me, this one was different. At first, Allie makes friend, only later does the common "mean girl" plot take over. I thought they wasted an awful lot of time on the Summer Ball. It got a little boring to me. Unlike you though, I was not able to predict the outcome. I was actually interested in the strange way everything shook out in the end. I've read some reviews for the next book and it looks like it quite a bit better than this one. So I'm in, how about you?

This book sounds great and I'm going to read it very soon!! This is the 5th (I think?) great review I'm reading of it and I'm 100% convinced I will love it.
I'm glad that it is unusual and special because I'm always looking for different books. Kiri sounds like a great main character, too!

Isn't it great? My favorite part of the story is DEFINITELY the cupcake descriptions at the beginning of each chapter. They always made my mouth water! AND YES HOT HOCKEY BOYS! I don't even know any guys who play hockey in real life, or know if guys who play hockey are generally hot, but I totally bought the concept in the book. :P

There's so much to love about your list! I really like when I see a strong sisterly dynamic in books. I've only read a couple that have had these, but I really want to read more.

I added foreign countries to my list, too. I feel like that's what reading is all about taking you somewhere you've never been.

I haven't read any Sarah Dessen, but I just recently purchased 3 when BAM was having a sale. I need to get on that :)
