Bookish News~ February 11th-15th

bookish news

This has been the week of awesome bookish news. From tons of cover reveals to cover remakes and an awesome contest from one of my favorite authors!

HP_FINAL_SORCERERS-328x500First of all, what did you guys think of the new book cover for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone?

In celebration of The Sorcerer’s Stone 15th anniversary they decided to redesign the covers for the paperback editions, all seven books will get new paperback covers and will be available for sale this September.

I love the old covers, and I do like these ones too and even if I didn’t I would still buy them because I just have to own them to add to my collection of HP stuff. =)

The illustrator for the new cover is Kazu Kibuishi  (click on his name to be directed to the press release)

Go to Scholastic for more info.

WLMelissa Marr just announced yesterday on twitter that she’s releasing another Wicked Lovely novel… I screamed when I read the news. I LOVE her Wicked Lovely series and cannot wait to find out more about this one. It’s called Desert Tales and is a companion novel not a continuation of the last one in the series. You can read more about it in her Tumblr.

I hadn’t heard of this debut novel until I saw the cover reveal on Young Adult Books Central. I added

it to my Goodreads list immediately after though,

it sounds pretty great and that cover is quite chilling.

Can’t wait to see what this one’s all about and they’re

also having a giveaway for an arc over at YABC.

IronKingcomicNow last but not least, Julie Kagawa is having a fabulous contest on her blog if you want to help out in developing her Iron Fey Series into a graphic novel.

I loved her Iron Fey Series, it’s definitely a favorite. So if you want to make this happen, check out her blog post on it, also visit Kickstarter’s page to learn more about the process and who’s involved in it, plus more sneak peeks. Also, if you hadn’t heard yet, check out Julie’s post about her movie deal news for her upcoming series. Soooo much awesomeness going on for her this year, so happy for Julie!

  1. Love the new covers for Harry Potter, but I don't like it when books do this because I feel compelled to buy the new versions even though I already have the books. This can get expensive! :(
